Michael "Mike" Boehm 1921 - 2004

Michael "Mike" Boehm, 83, 4975 2nd Ave. North, died Saturday July 24, 2004 on the family farm.

Michael Stanislaus Boehm, was born May 4, 1921 on the family farm to Frank and Eva (Wald) Boehm. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul Parochial School until the 7th grade, when he moved to public school. After completion of the 8th grade, he assisted his father in operation of the farm.

Mike enlisted in the US Army on September 3, 1942. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Battle of the Bulge. Early in his military career, he would take a leave of absence to assist his father with fall harvest. While in the service, he served as an Artilleryman, as well as a Marksman. He was honorably discharged on November 7, 1945.

In 1946, Michael took over the operations of the family farm, after the death of his father. He became well known for driving around in his pickup checking the crops and getting the fishing and hunting report. His special friend and companion Dorothy Hegle died November 29, 1994. He resided at the family farm until the time of his death.

Michael had many hobbies, including hunting, and fishing. As a young man, he loved his horses, participating in the rodeos. He also enjoyed playing his harmonica and guitar in the "Karlsruhe 5."

He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe, where he was baptized and confirmed.

He is survived by: sisters, Rose Boehm, Minot, Claire Boechler, Karlsruhe,
Monica (Larry) Krebsbach, San Jose, CA. Brother, Frank Boehm, Columbia, MO; Dorothy's grandson, Randy (Brenda) Davis, Karlsruhe

He was preceded in death by his parents, Special friend and companion, Dorothy Hegle. Sisters , Betty Krimm, Regina Ganje, Marie McNamara, Ann Zerr; Brothers, John Boehm and Joe Boehm.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, July 28, 2004, 10:30 am, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe, ND.

Burial: will take place at 2:00 pm at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot, Noon -7:30 pm

Recitation of the Holy Rosary: Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Thompson Larson Funeral Home Chapel in Minot.
