Lawrence "Larry"
Andrew Boechler 1946 -
2007 Lawrence was born on October 18, 1946, the son of Andrew and Leocadia "Lee" (Black) Boechler in Minot. He lived his early years in Karlsruhe, spending time with his grandparents and aunts and uncles. He later moved with his family to California where he graduated from Arroyo High School in West Covina, CA. He then attended and graduated from Monmouth College in New Jersey. He had 35 years of civilian and military service for the Department of Defense, including service in Vietnam with the US Army where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He served as Vice Deputy Director for Crisis Operations for the Department of Defense and was awarded the highest civilian medal in the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the 2005 "DIA Award for Exceptional Civilian Service." On January 2, 1978 in Fairfax, VA, he married Christina Stoffel. Larry is survived by his wife of 29 years, Christina Boechler, Culpeper, VA, sons, Nicholas and Andrew both of Virginia, brothers, Brian Boechler, Davis, CA, Jerry Boechler, Jacksonville, Florida, Duane Boechler, Franksville, WI and Steven Boechler, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Funeral Service: Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe, ND. Burial: Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Karlsruhe Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Officiant: Father James Gross, pastor of the church Music: The Sts.
