Myrtle A. Stockwell Blowers 1912 - 2004

Myrtle A. Stockwell Blowers, 91, Minot, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, in a Minot nursing home.

She was born October 20, 1912, in Sherwood, ND, the daughter of Allen and Hannah (Kjos) Stockwell. She attended school in Eden Valley and Sherwood High School. She was active in girls basketball team. She married Elmer O. Fiskvik on November 1, 1930. They lived in Granville, ND for 12 years and then moved to Minot. They were later divorced. She married Jennings Blowers on June 23, 1951. She worked at the American Café and the Covered Wagon, both of Minot, for 24 years. Jennings died on January 30, 1989. She continued to live in Minot until the time of her death.

She attended the South Side Church of the Nazarene, Minot, and was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Senior Citizens, both of Minot. She loved fishing, cooking and visiting. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family. This was her greatest sense of joy.

Survivors: two daughters, Pattie (Perrie) Benton, Minot and Bonnie (Gary) Weaver, Longview, WA; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; one brother, Adolph (Maryellen) Quamme, 29 Palms, CA; She was preceded in death by her two husbands, five sons, Jerry, John and Elmer Fiskvik, Gail, Myron, Danial Blowers; four daughters, Mary Dinga, Donna Keatly, Darlene Landphere and Helen Cook; two sisters, Thelma Brezniak and Nora Velo; and one brother, Harold Stockwell.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at 10 a.m. South Side Church of the Nazarene.

Visitation: Tuesday, April 6, 2004, from Noon until 7 p.m. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
