Gale Jennings Blowers 1934 - 2003

Gale Jennings Blowers, 69, Minot, ND, died Sunday, October 12, 2003, at his residence.

He was born in Minot on June 19, 1934, the son of Jennings and Gertrude (Underdahl) Blowers. He was attended Minot Model School and Minot High School.

He married Janice Naslund on June 1, 1952, in Minot. Gale was an electrician by trade and was a wheeler-dealer who enjoyed the game of negotiation as much as the success of the deal itself. After retiring at the age of 53 he turned his talents to building a successful business owning and managing properties in and around Minot. He and his son Byron had their own electric business at one time.

With the exception of a few short trips away from Minot to go to the Oregon, Washington, California and Montana areas he and his wife of 50 years, Janice, spent most of their lives in the town he enjoyed.

Gale belonged to many clubs the Elks, Moose, and the Eagles Aerie. He was a life long member of the IBEW where he met many great friends. He volunteered at the North Dakota State Fair, the Norsk Hostfest, and he was a supporter of the MAYSA organization.

If you asked what Gale stood for - what he represented in life, people would tell you he was known for being a very friendly man, with a deep sense of honesty and integrity and was completely devoted to his family. He was a man you could count on to live up to his word. His work ethic and loyalty were beyond reproach.

Survivors include his daughters Kimberly Nielsen and her husband Gary of Minot, ND and Tamara Jo White and her husband David of Minot, ND, his sons Byron Blowers and his wife Chris of Bismarck, ND, and Blayne Blowers and his wife Cheryl of Ankeny, Iowa. Also surviving are his special grandchildren, Blake Blowers and his wife Andrea, Marisa (Blowers) Auck and her husband Tyler, Channing and Rauchelle Nielsen, Brett and Brittany Blowers, and Lindsey, Danielle, Jennings and Kimberly White; his step mother Myrtle Blowers, his step sisters Patty Benton and Bonnie Weaver, his mother in law Gertrude Naslund of Minot, ND, his brother in law Randy Naslund and his wife Ruby of Fargo, ND, his sister in law Bette Coleen Nunes of Vancouver, WA, his aunt Ramona Schroepfer and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
