Leonard J. Bloms 1918 - 2005 Leonard J. Bloms, 87, Minot, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at his home. He was born on April 6, 1918, in Carpio, ND, the son of William and Matilda (Keller) Bloms. He was reared and educated in Carpio and later joined the National Guard. Leonard entered the United States Army on April 1, 1941, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged on November 15, 1945. After his discharge Leonard went to work for General Metalcraft in Olympia, WA. Leonard returned to North Dakota and moved to Voltaire where he owned and operated a bar for a number of years until he retired. After his retirement he moved to Minot. Survivors: daughter, Robin Waddell, Palm Springs, CA; sisters, Florence and Irene Bloms, Minot; sister in law, Emily Bloms, Minot. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Bloms and his parents, brothers, Alex, Frank, Edward, Joseph, Raymond and Arnold Bloms. Graveside Service: Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park Veterans Section, Minot.
