Christopher M. Blomquist 1973 - 2010 Christopher was born November 15, 1973 in Jamestown, ND, to Robert and Patricia (Melby) Blomquist. He was raised in Battle View and attended school in Powers Lake, where he graduated in 1992. Chris then attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton. Christopher married Samantha Daeley on February 2, 2002 at the Nazarene Church in Kenmare, ND. To this union two children were born Wyatt and Morgan who Chris loved dearly and was very proud of. Chris enjoyed working in the oil field and worked for Eagle Operating, Sun Well Service and Carlson Well Service, where he was employed at the time of his death. He could fix anything, and would drop what he was doing to help anyone in need. He loved his family and he enjoyed camping, hunting and was an avid gun collector. Those who shared in his life, Wife, Samantha, Kenmare; children, Wyatt and Morgan; parents, Robert and Patricia Blomquist, Battle View, ND; sisters, Michelle (Lance) Kraft, Bismarck, ND and their son, Ty, and Amy (Austin) Wilhelm, Mandan, ND and their daughter, Taylor; brother, Casey (Jeanette Grunow) Blomquist, Powers Lake; in-laws, Shelley and Boyd Brekhus, Kenmare, ND; Amanda Daeley, Kenmare and her son, William; and Robert and Anna Mae Laumb, Tolley, ND; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Christopher was preceded in death by his brother, Cameron “Carl” Blomquist on June 7, 2009; aunt, Diane Miller; grandparents, Clifford Blomquist, Bernice Blomquist Carlson, Clarence Carlson, Audran and Verna Melby; great-grandparents, Hazel and Albin Melberg and Carl and Edith Melby. Funeral: Friday, August 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Powers Lake, ND. Visitation and prayer service: Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Powers Lake, ND. Burial: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Battle View, ND. Officiating Clergy: Pastor Dan Paulson and Pastor Doug West Music Honorary Bearers: All of Chris’s family, friends, and co-workers Active Bearers: Scott Carlson, Rick Carlson, Scott Stanton, Monte Brekhus, Doug Hysjulien Kemp Makeeff, Paul Daeley, Adam Melberg, J.D. Moore Everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the lower level of the church. Those not attending the graveside service may begin the fellowship and the family will join you when they return from the cemetery.
