Carola Blackwell 1928 - 2005

Carola Blackwell, 76, 817 Park St., Minot, ND, died Saturday, August 20, 2005, at a Minot nursing home.

Carola was born on November 18, 1928, the daughter of Eugen and Babette (Kainz) Berndl in Munich, Germany. She was raised and educated in Munich.

Carola was once married to Theryl E. Blackwell. They lived in Germany for a short time before coming to the United States. They had lived in New Jersey, Manhattan, NY, England, CA, and had moved to Minot in 1969. She had worked as a waitress for the Parker Johnson Hotel, Joventes, and at the American Legion. She retired in 1990.

She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, dancing, needle point, beadwork, and balloons. She was a giving person, as she had recently made several donations to various charitable and civic organizations.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Sunny (Bob) Napora, Fargo, ND; son, Bryan W.J. Blackwell, Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carola was preceded in death by her parents; and her eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral: Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

At Carola's request, there will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book on Tuesday from Noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
