Victor Bischof 1937- 2010

Victor Bischof PhotoVictor Bischof, 72, Minot, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 in a Minot Hospital.
           
Victor was born on October 9, 1937, in Kandel, Russia, the son of George and Margarete (Schatz) Bischof.    In 1944, the family moved to Germany until 1952, when Victor was 14 , they moved to the United States directly to Karlsruhe, ND.     After his education in Karlsruhe, he worked for a short time for the Burlington Northern Railroad until starting working on his lifelong profession of carpentry starting with a construction company in 1957.  

On October 6, 1959, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe  he married Rose Schiele.   They had five children.    He continued working for various building contractors in the Minot  area retiring in 2000.   

Victor was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot, and the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.   

Victor is survived by his wife, Rose, Minot; daughter, Rhonda (Jeff) Moum, Minot, sons, Rodney (Laurie) Bischof, Lisbon, Randall (Jonna) Bischof, Fargo, Roger (Paula) Bischof, Minot and Russ (Karla) Bischof, West Fargo, ND;  nine grandchildren, Rodney Jr., Levi, Courtney, Maci, Madison, Shanda, and Chase Bischof and Collin and Jayden Moum. brothers, Michael (Linda) Bischof, Andrew (Mary) Bischof, George (Carolyn) Bischof, Jr. and David  (Carolyn) Bischof all of Minot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarete and George.

Vigil Prayer Service:  Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 7 p.m. at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot


Funeral:  Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot, ND

Burial:
 Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Visitation: 
Tuesday from noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot and starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Leo’s.
