Margaret Bischof • 1937 - 2003

Margarete Bischof, 88, 600 South Main St., Minot, formerly of Karlsruhe, died Sunday, November 23, 2003 in a Minot Hospital.

Margarete Schatz was born in Russia to Rosa and Gabriel Schatz on July 2, 1915. On January 15, 1937, in Kandel, Russia, she married George Bischof. Following their marriage the couple lived in that area until 1944 when they moved to Germany. In 1952, the family came to the United States and moved directly to Karlsruhe, ND. George died on March 17, 1991. She continued to live in Karlsruhe until moving into the Dakota Terrace Apartments in Minot in 1996. She moved into Manor Care Health Services three months ago.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of both churches and belonged to the VFW Women's Auxiliary.

A special thank you to all of the people who touched her heart from Manor Care and Trinity Hospital.

Survivors: sons, Victor ( Rose) Bischof, Michael (Linda) Bischof, Andrew (Mary) Bischof, George (Carolyn) Bischof, Jr. and David (Carolyn) Bischof, all of Minot. 15 Grandchildren, Rodney (Laurie), Randy (Jonna), Roger (Paula), Russ (Karla) and Rhonda(Jeff) Moum, Ken (Laurae) and Connie, Gary( Angie), Sandy (Doug) Berven and Darren, Derek and Duran, Rick (Jackie) and Rebecca (Dean) Briggs and Roxanne (Dale) Reiter; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Angelina Wurdinger, Austria. Nieces and Nephews in Austria and Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, and brothers and sisters, Franz, Andrew and Marianna and a great grandson, Daniel Briggs.

Funeral: Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot

Rosary Recitation: Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home

Burial: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe, Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Visitation: Tuesday, today, from noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
