Sylvester Earl Berg 1932 - 2008 Funeral service for Sylvester "Bugs" Earl Berg, 76, of rural Max will be Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, North Dakota. Visitation will be Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church. A Celebration of Life reception following the service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church for all family and friends. Burial will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot. Sylvester was born July 29, 1932 in Harvey, North Dakota to August and Emelia Berg. He graduated from Velva High School. He farmed at rural Max and was a winter snowbird to Mesa, AZ. Sylvester married Bernice "Betty" Ganje on July 16, 1953 in Minot. They had four children: Cynthia, Jeffrey, Jeryl, and Sharilyn. After Betty passed in 1994, Sylvester met an old school sweetheart, Edith J. (Irwin) Messner. Sylvester and Edith were married on February 14th, 1998 in Mesa, AZ. Survivors include his wife, Edith; son Jeffrey (Tina) of Prescott WI; daughter Sharilyn Berg Alpharetta, GA; five grandchildren, Jeremy and Ashley Berg of Minot, ND; Jessica and Alexia Schlender of Alpharetta, GA; and Emelia Berg of Prescott, WI. Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents, August and Emelia Berg; wife Bernice (Gange); daughter Cynthia; and son Jeryl. To sign the online guest register
