Lenore I. Bergstad • 1920 - 2004

Lenore I. Bergstad, 84, Minot, ND, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at a Crosby nursing home.

Lenore Isabelle Flaten was born on June 21, 1920, the daughter of Ingvald and Ida (Hanson) Flaten in Velva, North Dakota. She was raised in Rugby and attended school there.

Lenore was married to Floyd V. Bergstad, Sr. on September 3, 1938, in Towner, ND. They made their home in the area. He worked as a farm laborer and she was a homemaker. The couple retired in 1973, and moved into Velva. Floyd died on April 3, 1985. She was most recently residing at the Crosby Good Samaritan Center.

Lenore was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Surviving family includes: sons: Floyd Bergstad of Velva; and Norman Bergstad of Minot;
daughter: Mary Ann (Don) Rudland of Flaxton;16 grandchildren;36 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren;sisters-in-law: Agnes Berge and Betsy Flaten;aunts: Alice Strube and Gladys Dix;several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Lester and Mylo Flaten; sisters, Ruth Thronsedt and Violet Payseno; grandson, Blaine Rudland; granddaughter, April Peterson; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Monday, January 3, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND.

Interment: Bergen Cemetery, Bergen, ND.

Visitation: Monday from Noon until service time at the church.
