John L. Berg • 1930 - 2004 John L. Berg, 73, Bowbells, died Sunday, November 7, 2004, in the Kenmare Hospital. John was born December 7, 1930, in Bowbells Township, Burke County, near Bowbells, ND, the son of Ole and Ella (Adamson) Berg. They moved to the farm one week before John's first birthday. He was raised in that area and attended Bowbells High School, where he graduated in 1949. On June 7, 1961, John married Betty Lou Siebrasse in Marysville, Washington. Following their marriage they lived and farmed in Burke County, near Bowbells, ND. Their daughter Cindy was born May 27, 1963. John farmed until 1995, and on May 26, 1995 his wife Betty died. John was a member of United Methodist Church, Bowbells, and was active in the Society of St. Stephen. Over the years John served on numerous church boards. He served on the Bowbells School Board, the Burke County Social Service Board and the Bowbells Fire District. John was also a good carpenter and enjoyed working in his shop. Survivors: Daughter, Cindy Berg, Bowbells; brothers, Melvin (Elaine) Berg, Bismarck, and Gordon Berg, Minot; sister, Janet (Wayne) Clingman, Portal; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents, Ole and Ella; brothers, Oliver and Henry Berg, and sister, Evelyn Owens. Funeral: Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at 11:00 a.m.at United Methodist Church, Bowbells with Pastor Dave Birkeland officiating. Visitation: Wednesday, one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial: Bowbells Cemetery, Bowbells, ND. Officiant: Rev.
