M. Marie Berget • 1921- 2010

M. Marie Berget, Minot, passed away at age 89 on Monday, December 27, 2010, in a Minot hospital. She has joined her beloved husband, Erling A. Berget in eternal peace.
  
She leaves behind five devoted children, Yvonne Berget of CA, Beverly Johnson of MD, John Berget of CA, Robert Berget of CA and Cynthia Allen of MD.  She also leaves grandchildren and great grandchildren to keep her memory close at heart.  Marie was raised with her siblings, who have predeceased her, Magnus Stockland and Olga Rustad.

Marie Stockland was born February 13, 1921, the daughter of Sven and Hanile Stockland, in North Dakota. She graduated high school in North Dakota, married Erling Berget during WW II and they began their family.  They moved to Iowa and then California where they raised their children. Marie was an administrative assistant for Berkeley Unified School District and for a period of time for the University of California at Berkeley.  Marie enjoyed her job but most of all her family and making every occasion a special one.  Upon retiring Marie and Bergie moved back to Bowbells and then to Minot.  She loved playing cards with her friends and will be missed.

At Marie’s request, A private interment will take place next to her husband, Erling, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Minot.
Visitation:  There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book on Thursday, January 6, 2010, from Noon to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
