Mary Ann Benjamin • 19 - 2008 Mary Ann was born March 15, 1932 in Minot, ND, the daughter of Nick and Ann (Rice) Nickelson. She was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot Model High School in 1949. On December 4, 1949 Mary Ann married Curtis Benjamin at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot. Following their marriage they lived in San Diego, CA, where Curtis was stationed with the United States Navy. Following his discharge in 1952 they returned to Minot and began raising their family. Mary Ann loved her family and the time spent with them. She loved crocheting and doing crafts. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden and she did a lot of canning. Those who shared in her life, husband, Curtis, Minot; children, Doug (Kathy) Benjamin, Ken (Gail) Benjamin, all of Minot, Ruby (Roger) Grilley, Sioux Falls, SD, Mel (Cindy) Benjamin, Minot, Steve (Michelle) Benjamin, Minot, Debbie Combs, Sioux Falls, SD, Chuck Benjamin, Fargo, Jim (Tish) Benjamin, Minot; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, John Nickelson, Bottineau; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bud and Les Nickelson; sisters, Betty Lund and Helen Croll, and an aunt who helped raise her, Gina Hammond. Funeral: Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, December 31, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial: Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens,
