Harry A. Behrens 1925 - 2006 Harry A. Behrens, 80, 8201 167th St. NE, Surrey, died peacefully Monday, March 27, 2006 at home from cancer with his wife at his side. Harry was born June 29, 1925 on the Behrens homestead farm, near Surrey, ND, the son of John and Anna (Hoppman) Behrens. He attended rural schools and graduated from the North Dakota State College of Science at Wahpeton with an electrical degree. He farmed for many years and did a lot of electrical work for farm neighbors. Harry was chairman of Maryland Township Board for 35 years. He was a member of the Deering Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He was a member of the local Eureka McKinley Farmers Union for many years. Harry was the inventor of the Dig-N-Pic rock picker and the Behrens Hydrocastor. On November 18, 1977, he marred Jo Anne Gregerson. Survivors: Wife, Jo Anne, Surrey; brother, Walter (Wanda) Behrens, Minot; sister, Dorothy (Clarence) Offerman, Oxnard, CA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins also survive. Harry was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral: Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 10:30 a.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. At Harry's request his body will be donated to the University of North Dakota Medical School following the funeral service. Visitation: At Harry's request there will be no reviewal,
but friends may sign the register Wednesday from noon to 7:00
