Patricha D. Becker • 1932- 2009 Patricha Darlene “Patty” Hawkins was born on September 5, 1932, the daughter of Thomas Percy and Blanche Myrtle (Erickson) Hawkins in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Patricha moved to Minot, North Dakota and worked as a telegraph operator for Western Union. It was in Minot that she met and married Harold E. Becker. They later moved to Surrey, North Dakota where they raised their two children. Mrs. Becker worked for twenty-two years in Minot as a health care service provider for the elderly. She was involved in various local organizations and was a member of River of Life Church in Minot. Mrs. Becker was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, who passed away October 30, 1987. She is currently survived by her daughter Lucy Hill of Colorado Springs, Colorado and a son Joseph Becker of Lawrence, Kansas. She also leaves behind two sisters and their husbands; Shirley and Bob Mumm of Canon City, CO; and Sharon Kay and Dave Botts of Milton, Florida. She has five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. At the request of Patty’s family, no services are planned in Minot.
