Gladys Christine Becker 1910 - 2006

Gladys Christine Becker, 96, Minot, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 in a Minot nursing home.

Gladys was born May 5, 1910 to Alma and Edward Hoaglund of Anamoose, ND.
She attended elementary school in Funston, and graduated from Drake High
School in 1930. She married William Becker in 1934. The family moved to
Minot in 1943, where she worked at Trinity Hospital for 20 years. William died in 1989.

She has been a member of First Lutheran Church and was an active member of
the ladies circle and quilters. She taught Sunday School for six years and volunteered with the hospital auxiliary for many years.

Gladys enjoyed gardening and canning and was a great cook. She loved cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family. She enjoyed every moment she spent with her family and was the kind of person to go without, so others could have.

Her family feels very blessed to have had her in their lives for all these years. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Neil (Sandra) Becker, Pick City, ND; daughters, Inez (Laurel) Kleven, Graham, WA, and Karen (John) Westendorf, Portland, OR, daughter-in-law, Donna Becker Olson, Lignite, ND. She is also survived by her sisters Clara Anderson of Moorhead, MN, Emily Johnson, Harvey, ND, and Esther Bromley, Drake, ND; Gladys has 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, William Becker, son, Willie Becker and grandson, Dwight Kleven; her parents, Alma and Edward Hoaglund; brothers, Leonard and Clarence Hoaglund.

Funeral: Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Wednesday, November 29, 2006, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.
