Hylda Edna Bechtold 1919- 2006


Hylda Edna Bechtold, 86, Minot, died Friday, June 9, 2006 in the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva.

Hylda was born July 17, 1919 on the family farm west of Sawyer, ND, the daughter to William and Magdalen (Gittel) Bechtold. She was raised and educated in the Sawyer and Velva areas.

Hylda worked at the Hotel Berry, J.C. Penny Company and Verendrye Electric Coop, all in Velva. She later moved to Washington State for a time and than returned to Velva, where she lived for a short time before moving to Minot.

Hylda loved reading her Bible and sharing her faith in the Lord. She was a gourmet cook, liked to read, shop and eat out. She was a member of the Sawyer Mennonite Church and the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Minot.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Hylda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Martha Hankel, and two brothers, Harold and Elmer Bechtold.

Funeral: Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
