Dr. Brent P. Bartsch 1964 - 2004 Dr. Brent P. Bartsch, 40, Wahpeton, ND, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at a Fargo hospital after a short battle with cancer. Brent Patrick Bartsch was born on January 4, 1964, the son of Charles and Mildred (Wald) Bartsch in Minot, ND. He was raised on the family farm near Bergen, ND, and graduated from Velva High School in 1982. He attended NDSU, where he was a member of several organizations, including the Blue Key Honor Society. He was elected Homecoming King in 1986, and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1987. He continued his education at Iowa State University in Ames, IA, where he received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Brent was employed as a Veterinarian by Sheyenne Valley Veterinary Clinic in Harvey from 1991 - 96. He moved to Wahpeton, where he was on the staff at Dakota Veterinary Hospital from the fall of 1996 until the time of his death. In March of 2004, he became an honorary member of the Theta Chi Fraternity at NDSU. He was a member of several veterinary associations which include: NDVMA, AVMA, OTS at Iowa State University. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Jaycees, St. John's Catholic Church, and choir, in Wahpeton. He was a member of the Harvey Eagles Aerie and former member of many civic and church organizations in Harvey. Brent had a strong faith in God, enjoyed animals, traveling, singing, visiting casinos, and spending time with family, especially family reunions. His loving family includes: Brent was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Theodore Bartsch and Ambrose Wald. Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, August 5, 2004,
