Kelly Balerud • 1962 - 2009 Kelly was born July 23, 1962 in Minot, ND, a twin son to Linn and Ann (Kraft) Balerud. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1981. He worked for several years at Hutton Construction in Towner. The company later moved to Strasburg, CO and Kelly traveled the country working for them before settling in Louisiana. While in Louisiana he worked for the water department in Greenwood and Vivian, LA. He was forced to retire because of an injury he received in a car accident. Kelly married Linda Hirsch in 1999 and they later divorced. Those who shared in his life, brothers, Dennis (Mary Ann) Kraft, San Antonio, TX; sister, Cheryl Richeson, Minot, ND; twin brother and sister, Daryl (Mary Lou) Balerud, Bismarck, ND and Debbie Forman, Minot, ND; sister, Lynette (Donald) Richeson, Olympia, WA; brothers, Bruce (Lori Long) Balerud, Williston, ND and Curtis Balerud, Underwood, ND; sister, Julie (Leslie) Zuck, Balfour, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins survive. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Linn and Ann; twin sister, Kimberly Kay Balerud; brothers, Jacob Balerud and Dan Kraft; brother-in-law, Joseph Richeson and nephew Brent Balerud. Memorial Service: Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 11:00 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot, ND. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the guest register one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND in the spring.
