June M. Baker 1929 - 2010 June was born on February 26, 1929, the daughter of Raymond E. and Emma J. (Pounds) George in Minot, ND. She was reared and educated in Minot and the Grano area. June was married to James Baker on June 29, 1946 at First Presbyterian Church in Minot officiated by Rev. Percy L. Smith. She worked at Newberry’s Café, Bonanza, Sammy’s Pizza and at Head Start all in Minot. She loved to be with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, anytime that she could be with family was special. The children that she worked with everyday at Head Start where a delight to for her to see everyday. One of her passions were gardening, both flowers and vegetables and placing her yard animals around. She enjoyed going to area establishments and playing BINGO. June was a member of the Abraham Lincoln Women’s Relief Corps until it closed, the First Presbyterian Church, the Salvation Army Home League , the Foster Grandparent program at Head Start, where they called her “Grandma June”, the Rainbow Gardens and the Wellness Program of “Recycled Teenagers” for Trinity all of Minot. June is survived by her husband, James Baker, Minot; son, Gary A. (Amalia Rosenblum) Baker, Las Angeles, CA; daughters, Diana (Roger) Page, Minot, Deb (Royce) Crone, Grenora, ND, Bev Braseth, Fargo, ND and Anita Huschka, Bagley, MN; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Pete) Mobley, Minot, Louise Hammer, Los Angeles, CA, Carol Granheim, Minot, Glenda Horgeshimer. Minot; brother: Jim Granheim, Bakersfield, Calif., Aunt, Myrtle Walker, Minot. Funeral: First Presbyterian Church, Minot, ND on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND Visitation: Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
