Lola Marie Bacon 1926 - 2002

Lola Marie Bacon, 76, Granville, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, in a Minot hospital.

Lola was born October 10, 1926 in Denbigh, ND, the daughter of John and Edythe (Harmon) Kramer. She was reared and educated in the Granville area and graduated from Granville High School. She attended Minot State Teachers College and then taught at a rural school north of Denbigh for a time. On May 29, 1945, she married David Bacon, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Minot. They lived and farmed south of Granville.

Lola was a member of Hope Congregational Church, Granville, where she was active in the Women's Society, taught Sunday School and served as treasurer for a number of years. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club, Parent Teachers Organization and Music Mothers, all of Granville.

Survivors: Husband of 57 years, David Bacon, Granville; daughter, Heide (Bryan) Fluhrer, Stanley; son, Kerry (Sandy) Bacon, Granville; daughter-in-law, Judy Bacon, Granville; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly (Heidi) Bacon, Ryan (Michelle) Bacon, Seth (Tracy) Bacon, Amy (Bill) Thomas, Sara Bacon and her fiancee, Dylan Anderson, Layne Fluhrer and Tesha Fluhrer; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle Kramer, Denbigh; sister, Phyllis Hudson, Granville; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. She was preceded in death by her son, D. Rodney Bacon; daughters, Bonnie, Naomi and Melinda Bacon; her parents; brothers, Ralph, John and George Kramer and sister Alice Seright.

Funeral: Friday, December 20, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Congregational Church, Granville.

Visitation: Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Granville Cemetery, Granville, ND.
