Bonnie Melvina Atwood • 1911 - 2002 Bonnie Melvina Atwood, 90, Kenmare, formerly of Tolley, died Sunday in a Kenmare hospital. She was born on October 20, 1911, in Sauk Prairie Township, Ward County on the family homestead to Roy Lee and Mattie Ellen (Cole) Ladd. She was raised in Sauk Prairie Township and attended the Sauk Prairie School, completing the eighth grade. On November 9, 1921, she married Irvin Atwood at Tolley. They made their home in the Tolley area until moving into Kenmare in 1951. In 1952, she went to work at the Kenmare Hospital and later worked for the Kenmare Laundry until retiring in 1993. Her husband died on July 15, 1968. Bonnie continued living in Kenmare until the time of her death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Tolley, where she was an active member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Bonnie gave her faith to the Lord on May 20, 1948. Bonnie enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She made each of her grandchildren and several of her great-grandchildren afghans. Survivors: son, Donald Ross Atwood and wife (Belinda

Dawn Marie Atwood and Chris Atwood; 14 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Ostlund, Fort Collins,
CO and Doris Pope, Twin Falls, ID; special niece, Geraldine and
Donald Peterson and their families, Don and Kathy Rapp and David
and Pauline Peterson; special friends, Marlys and Russell Anderson.
Her husband; parents; infant daughter, Melvina; son, Eugene
Dwaine Atwood; grandson, Mitchell Atwood; granddaughter, Virginia
Bila; three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. Visitation: Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare.
