Jane S. Arneson • 1920 - 2002
Jane was born March 27, 1920, in Roosevelt Township, Renville County, near Tolley, ND, the daughter of John N. and Amanda M. (Brox) Lundgren. She attended Roosevelt Township School. On February 27, 1940 she married Clifford M. Arneson in Minot, ND. They lived and farmed in the Tolley area their entire lives except from 1945 to 1947, when they lived in Minot. During that time Cliff owned and operated Valley Motors. They returned to farming in 1947 and in 1950 built a new home at the present location near Tolley. Besides farming the couple owned and operated Arneson Insurance which they began in 1961. In 1982 Jane became a licensed crop insurance agent for MPCI and Crop Hail Insurance Company. After Clifford's death in 1998, Jane continued to work as an insurance agent out of Tolley until 1999. In January of 2000 she entered assisted living in Minot, and in August of 2002 she entered ManorCare Health Services, where she since had lived. Jane was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Womens ELCA and the Senior Citizens, all in Tolley. She loved visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, square dancing and entering contests. Survivors: Daughter, Gail Linda (Carl) Van Hove, Fort Lupton, CO; son, Clifford Randall (Holly) Arneson, Minot; three grandchildren, Naomi, Teresa, and Edmund Van Hove; brother, Elmond (Estelle) Lundgren, Dickinson; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her parents, Amanda and John; sisters, Agnes Alexander, Lillian Zeltinger and Bernice Hellebust; brothers, Elias, Charles and John Lundgren. Funeral: Monday, December 2, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley, ND. Visitation and prayer service: Sunday, December 1, 2002, from noon to 5:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Burial: Monday at 2:30 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND. Officiant: Rev.
