Pauline E. Apland, 51, Minot, died Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Bismarck, ND.

Pauline Ellen Martian was born on December 19, 1959, an adopted daughter of Nick and Betty Martian.  She was raised in Meadowbrook Addition in Minot and earned her GED in Minot. As a young lady, Pauline worked at the Country Kitchen as a waitress and was proud of her skill and waitressing ability. Pauline was once married to Bob Ladish.
                    
In 1998, Pauline was united in marriage to John W. Apland in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she held various jobs that dealt with customer service.
 
Pauline was an avid and feared pool player and was very active in the Minot pool leagues. In 2002, she was the North Dakota State Women’s Singles Champion. She also loved spending time in the outdoors, caring for and riding horses, camping, fishing, and she enjoyed the sights of waterfalls and mountains.

Apland, Minot; children: Bambi (Chad) Lantto-Bruce, Minot, and Joshua Apland, Minot; mother Betty Martian, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Tiassa, Trevor, Tyler, Treyden, Jordan Rae, Chad “Junior”, Starlett Bruce; brothers and sisters, Marie (Paul) Joseph, San Antonio, TX, Paul Martian, Springfield, OR, Gerald “Jerry” Martian, Reno, NV, Mariel (Jim) Zeller, Lexington, KY, Mary (Mathias) Fontes, Grand Forks, ND, eight foster brothers and sisters: Frank, Sue, Mary, Bill, Theresa, Barb, Grant and Steve; father and mother-in-law: John L. and Sharon Apland, Minot; brothers-and sisters-in-law: Jamie Apland, Minot, Jason (Jessica) Apland, Butte, MT, JoAnn Kemaldean, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
 
Pauline was preceded in death by her father Nick, and brother Vernon Martian.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Wednesday, September 28, 2011, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
