Betty L. Anhorn 1933 - 2008 Betty Ruff was born March 8, 1933, in Fort Snelling, MN, the daughter of Godfred and Sylvia (Olson) Ruff. She was later adopted by Lillian and Bert Trulson. She was raised in Drake, ND and graduated from Drake High School in 1952. Betty worked at various places in Drake. Betty met Raymond Anhorn of Harvey, ND and was married to him on June 22, 1952. They moved to Minot in 1960 and Betty worked at various places over the years, including, the Eagles Club, the Moose Lodge, American Legion Club and Chances R. She was later employed with Minot High School's hot lunch program and was ground supervisor at Edison School. Betty also worked a short time at 7-Up Bottling Company. Her husband Ray died on August 3, 1988. Betty was a hard worker and loved her family and spending
time with them. She liked to go to the casinos, loved playing
cards and planting flowers. She adored her pets and loved taking
her pet dog, Sammy for walks. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran
Church and the Eagles Auxiliary, both in Minot. Betty was a lot
of fun and enjoyed laughing and making people laugh. We will
all miss Betty's phone calls. She was a great lady who will be
deeply missed. Those who shared in her life, Daughter, Bonnie (Mike) Riely, Minot; sons, Mark Anhorn and his fiancee, Kim Reiswig and her daughter, Kayla, Minot, and Bruce Anhorn, Jennings, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Lindsey and Tabbitha Riely, Minot, and Travis Anhorn, Jennings, LA; two great-grandsons, Cameron Klein and Jade Anderson; brother-in-law, Ervin Anhorn and sister-in-law, Gladys Werth, both in Harvey; numerous nieces and nephews; aunt, Norma (Ervin) Mavis, Mpls., MN and uncle, Wesley (Irene) Mavis, Butte, MT. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; a daughter, Deborah Anhorn; a grandson, Troy Anhorn; her parents and adoptive parents and half sister, LaVerne Pederson. Funeral: Wednesday April 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from noon to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND. Officiants: Rev. Tim Eighmy and Rev. Jeff Hoverson Music Hardy Lieberg, vocalist Honorary Bearers: Betty's family and friends Active Bearers: Richard Anhorn, Don Alexander, Jason Anhorn, Jim Anhorn, Mike Riely Tracy Newbury Following the graveside service everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the lower level of the church.
