Esther Hope Dwello Anfinson, 94, Minot, formerly of Granville, ND, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Trinity Homes.

Esther Hope Dwello was born on February 13, 1915, a daughter of Frederick and Agnes (Lyng) Dwello. She was raised and educated in Granville.

On March 31, 1933, she was united in marriage to Eugene H. Anfinson in Granville. They made their home in Granville until 1956, when they moved to Minot. Esther was employed at Trinity Hospital for many years, until a back injury forced her into early retirement. Eugene died November 15, 1987. Following his death she continued to live in Minot.

Esther was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. She loved crocheting, playing skip Bo with her friends and being involved in various church functions at Bethany.

Children: Bill Anfinson, Oxnard, CA, Colleen Rae Dalen, Minot, Myrna Irene Halvorson, Bismarck, and Jerry Lamont Anfinson, Gillette, WY; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; brother, Dwight Dwello, Libby, MT; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene H. Anfinson; two sons Michael Anfinson, Chicago and Terrance L. Anfinson, Shreve Port, LA; two daughters Claudia Ann Miller-Walstad, Mobridge, SD, and Cynthia Marie Toy Underside, Williston, ND; one granddaughter, Tina Marie Anfinson-Ruda, Chicago, Il; one great-granddaughter, Kristan Kay McPeters, Pheonix, AZ; one great-grandson, Gary Lynn Dalen, Great Falls, MT; two sons-in-law, John Miller, Williston, ND, and James Dalen, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, May 4, 2009 from 2-7 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 2 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Officiant: Rev. Janet Hernes-Mathistad
