Thelma G. Anderson • 1925 - 2007 Thelma G. Overlee was born October 28, 1925 on the Overlee family homestead, near Battleview, ND, to Carl and Thora Overlee. She attended Pleasant View School and later graduated from McGregor High School. Following high school, she worked at Trinity Hospital and Ward Drug in Minot. Thelma married Marvin Dean on April 8, 1947. They farmed and raised their seven children near Lansford. Marvin passed away on January 27, 1966. She married Herbert "Bud" Anderson on September 11, 1968. They continued to farm near Lansford and together had one daughter. Bud passed away on March 4, 1980. She retired in September of 2001. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Lansford Country Club, all in Lansford. Thelma enjoyed baking and cooking for family gatherings and community functions. She loved nothing more than having her family together and she especially cherished her grandchildren. Survivors: Children, Dennis (Linda Bauer) of Lansford, Diane (Charles) Olson, of Hutchinson, MN, Deborah (Larry) Johansen of Mohall, Marla (Mike) Rose, of Minot, Patrick (Scarlet Detlaff) of Glenburn, Bryan (Stephanie Effertz) of Velva, Jeffrey (Michelle Williams) of Williston, and Sandra Anderson of Lansford; grandchildren, Brendan and Donavan Dean, Tressa and Ryan Johansen, Bethany Olson Carter, Matthew and Melissa Olson, Karissa and Latasha Dean, Nathan, Adam, Bradley, Aaron and Colin Dean, Logan Dean and Devon Anderson; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Allison Carter; brother and sister-in-law, Calmer and Tillie Overlee of Battleview; sisters-in-law, Babe Overlee of McGregor and Arlene Overlee of Minot; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Thora Overlee; husbands, Marvin Dean and Bud Anderson; brothers, John and Norman Overlee. Funeral: Monday, February 19, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Lansford, ND. Visitation and Vigil Prayer Service: Visitation will be Sunday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all in St. John's Catholic Church in Lansford. Burial: St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Lansford, ND.
