Robert D. Anderson 1949 - 2002


Robert D. Anderson, 53, Bismarck, formerly of Velva, known to his friends as Bobby, died Saturday, November 9, 2002, at his residence.

Bob was born May 19, 1949, in Minot to Kenny and Teresa (Burckhard) Anderson of Velva. He graduated form Velva High School in 1967. In 1971, he was drafted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1973.

He married Bev Cline in 1981. He worked as a journeyman electrician most of his life, primarily for the Minot Public Schools before disability forced him to retire in 1998.

Bob "One Fish" Anderson was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the American Legion in Velva, and was active with the Strawberry Lake Association Board.

He loved being at Strawberry Lake and being surrounded by his friends and family. He was proud of his grandchildren and loved following their sports and activities.

Survivors: wife, Bev, Bismarck; daughters, Lory Krueger, Minot; Holly Braaten and her husband Shawn and Christie Kaylor and her husband Scott, all of Bismarck; nine grandchildren, David, Chaz, Kendra, Ethan, Brock, Karlee, Kilea, Hannah and Matthew; mother, Teresa Anderson, Minot; brother, Richard Anderson and his wife Bev, Minot; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenny, brother, Stevie, and his grandparents.

Funeral Service: Friday, November 15, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Visitation: Thursday, November 14, 2002, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: St. Cecilia's Catholic Cemetery, Velva.
