Rick Anderson 1958 - 2011 Ricky Sherman Anderson was born August 15, 1958, in Fargo, ND. He was welcomed with joy and excitement into the Sherman and Ramona (Edinger) Anderson family when he was six weeks old. He was raised and educated in Carpio. He then graduated from the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, where he studied Auto Mechanics. He worked in that profession in Valley City, Kenmare and Mohall, for a time, before moving back to the Anderson family farm, which was located in Callahan Township of Renville County, near Carpio. In 1981, he took over the operation of the family farm. He served many years as chairman of the Callahan Township Board. Rick married Kathryn A. Stockdill, his friend and soul mate on May 28, 1977, in Carpio Lutheran Church. From this union, two children, Jennifer and Jesse, were born. Rick was a loving and doting husband, father, and grandfather. He was humble, but always a good and generous friend to many. He never wanted to be in the limelight, but was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand or to give friendly or fatherly advice. Rick loved farming and was proud to be called a farmer. He was devoted to his working partnership with Kathy, who was always his right hand man. His loving family includes: wife and soul mate of 34 years, Kathy, Carpio; daughter, Jennifer (Britt) Sullivan, and their two children, Owen and Nolan, all of Bellevue, NE; son, Jesse Anderson, Glendale, AZ; sister, Rhonda (Cordell) Bugbee, Minot; brother, Randy Anderson, Minot; mother-in-law, Arlene Stockdill, Minot; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy (Steve) Asbe, Minot, Ken (Sandy) Stockdill, Walton, KY, Bonnie (Dick) Schmitz, LoLo, MT, and Becky Vogt, Blair, NE. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Ramona Anderson; and father-in-law, Lynn Stockdill. Memorial Service: Friday, December 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio.
