Ruth Maxine Anderson 1920 - 2002 Ruth Maxine Anderson, 82, Minot, formerly of Tioga, died Friday, November 1, 2002, in the Stanley hospital. Ruth was born March 2, 1920 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the daughter of Homer and Lu (Christensen) Alcott. She was raised and educated in Waubay, South Dakota. She graduated from Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota, with a teaching degree. She then taught in South Dakota and southwestern North Dakota. On April 18, 1942 she married Gerald C. "Gerry" Anderson in Miles City, Montana. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Rhame, North Dakota. In 1953 they moved to Tioga, North Dakota, where Gerry served as president of the Bank of Tioga. Ruth was a substitute teacher in Tioga. Gerry died in 1981. Ruth continued to live in Tioga until 1985, when she moved to Minot. Ruth was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Tioga and was active in the church circle. She also served on the board of directors of the Bank of Tioga. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Tioga. Survivors: Daughter Maren (Larry) Feiring, Stanley, North Dakota; sons: Tony (Norma) Anderson, Hayward, Wisconsin; and Gerald C. "Gerry" Anderson, Jr., Sacramento, California; seven grandchildren: Cindy (Dave) Peterson, Ryder, North Dakota; Wayne Feiring, Stanley, North Dakota; Cheryl Feiring, Stanley, North Dakota; Teri (Anthony) Madril, Katy, Texas; Kris (Bret) Webb, Katy, Texas; Kevin Anderson, Katy, Texas; and Kari Anderson, Tacoma, Washington; and three great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; one grandson, Krist Anderson; and her parents. At Ruth's request, there will be no memorial service or visitation. Cremation has taken place.
