Lyle Peter Anderson 1927 - 2007 Lyle was born November 10, 1927 in Clifford, ND to Peter and Gina (Haagenson) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Clifford. On May 2, 1945, he entered the United States Navy and served in the Philippines during World War II. He was honorably discharged on June 11, 1946 and returned to North Dakota. On May 29, 1949, Lyle married Viola Mae Wolden at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in several North Dakota communities. In 1956, they moved to Minot. Lyle worked for the Minot Rural Fire Department for a number of years, and later worked maintenance at Minot State College until his retirement. Lyle was a member of the American Legion. Survivors: Wife, Viola, Minot; children, Dale (Carelyn) Anderson, Des Lacs, ND, Judith Ann (Robert) Morien, Appleton, WI, Pennelope Adam and Renee Vannett, both of Minot, Donald (Sharon) Anderson, Zimmerman, MN, Tamara (LeRoy) Miller, Anamoose, ND, and Michelle (Scott) Scholl, Bloomington, MN; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Lyle was preceded in death by an infant son, David D. Anderson; his parents, Peter and Gina Anderson, and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral: Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Visitation: Monday, from noon to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
