Johan Earl Anderson 1927 - 2006 Johan Earl Anderson was born July 21, 1927, on the family farm in Crowfoot Township, Mountrail County, near Palermo, ND to Adolph and Inga (Seime) Anderson. He was raised in that area and attended Crowfoot country school. On December 10, 1950 he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on December 9, 1952. He returned to the family farm where he farmed his entire life and also worked road construction. In 1977 Earl married Marie Johnson McCarthy. She died in 1984. He continued to live on the farm until a year ago when he moved into Kenmare. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Coulee. He served as assessor in Redmond Township, Mountrail County for several years, and was a member of the Stanley American Legion. Earl liked to read and play cards. He never missed a threshing show or an area auction, and he enjoyed attending the North Dakota State Fair. Survivors: Sister, Arlene (Larry) Jessen, Kenmare; sister-in-law, Ethel Anderson, Kenmare; stepsons, Calvin (Jody) McCarthy and Tary McCarthy, all of Forrest River, ND; step grandchildren, Michelle Denarult and Jesse Yerka; step sisters, Bernice Jorgenson, Powers Lake, and Clara Trana, Stanley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; his parents, Adolph and Inga Anderson; brother, LaVern Anderson, and stepson, Gary McCarthy. Funeral: Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Coulee, ND. Visitation: Wednesday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Burial: Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Coulee. Officiant: Rev.
