Helen Anderson • 1915 - 2008 Helen Margaret Nickol was born March 9, 1915, the daughter of John and Mathilda (Anderson) Nickol in rural Powers Lake, ND. She attended Powers Lake country school and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1934. Helen's first marriage was to Chris Vogel. From this union, five children were born: James, Raymond, Rosanna, MaryBeth, and Karen. Helen married Verner Anderson in 1949 and together they had two children: Roger and Louise. They made their home in the Kenmare area, where Helen worked at the Kenmare Hospital as a nurse's aide for many years. Verner passed away June of 1978. She was an active member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, and a former member of the Ruth Circle. She was a member of the Kenmare Senior Citizens Center, and was a founding member of the Lakeview Art Club. Helen loved to read, solve puzzles, do all forms of crafts, fish, and garden (especially flowers). She was strong, steady and creative. She will be deeply missed. Her loving family includes: children, James (Gladys) Vogel, Rockford, IL, Raymond (Pauline) Vogel, Baxter, TN, Rosanna (Don) Sprinkle, Monticello, IL, Karen (Richard) Hopper, Minot, MaryBeth Quick, Albany, OR, Roger Anderson, Granite Falls, WA, and Louise Anderson (Tim Claus), Bloomington, MN;12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Rasmussen, Fair Oaks, CA, Katherine Hansen, Minot; sister-in-law, Myrtle Nickol, Minot; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verner Anderson; and brothers, Reuben, Raymond, and Aubrey Nickol. Funeral: Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at
