Helen L. (Boyko) Anderson
1912 - 2002 Helen L. (Boyko) Anderson, 89, 809 12th Ave. NE, Minot formerly of Butte, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, in a Minot hospital. Helen was born June 8, 1912 in Greatstone Township, McLean County, ND, the daughter of Kost and Eftemina (Masenko) Boyko. She attended grade school in Greatstone Township and later attended Minot High School. On July 2, 1932 she married Andrew Arvid Anderson in Washburn, ND. The couple lived and farmed on the family farm 12 miles southwest of Butte. Andrew died on March 12, 1954. Helen continued to live and work on the farm until June of 1997 when she moved to Minot. While in Butte Helen was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Dorcas Society of the church and was involved in the Senior Citizens Center, all in Butte. While in Minot Helen attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was very much loved by her entire family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very hard working, determined woman. While on the farm she helped raise turkeys, geese and chickens to provide food for the family. She loved to garden and enjoyed crocheting. She made a number of tablecloths and doilies. She enjoyed listening to Christian music and was a great cook. Survivors: Daughter, Linda Norlin, Minot; sons, Marvin (Carole) Anderson, and Wayne Anderson, all Minot; ten grandchildren, Kirk, Karna and her fiancée Carlan Taft, Justin, Brandyn and Lance, Terry, Lori, Melissa, Katina, and Tyler; seven great-grandchildren, Derek, Miranda, Mirissa and Dana, Shantel, Megan and Dylan; sisters, Agnes Warbitsky, Butte, ND, and Katherine Stevens, Hayden, ID; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Arvid Anderson; one great-grandson, Dustin Thom; her parents, Kost and Eftemina Boyko; sisters, Bessie Haverluck, Anna Sabrosky, Dorothy Jones, Edith Kovaloff and Agnes Warbitsky; brothers, Harry, Mack, Pete, John, Dan, Paul and Andrew Boyko. Helen leaves behind a very special dog, "Poopsie". Funeral: Friday, May 24, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Minot. Visitation: Thursday, 12:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
