Florence Anderson 19 - 2007 Florence Alma Tafelmeyer was born January 27, 1913, the daughter of John and Bessie (Varney) Tafelmeyer on the family farm located in Richland Township of Burke County, near Northgate, ND. She attended school in Northgate. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Flaxton, ND. Florence married John S. Anderson October 30, 1934, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Flaxton. They made their home on the Soren and Lena Anderson homestead where they farmed and raised livestock. They lived there until 1952, when they moved to Berthold, ND. They then moved to Lonetree, ND. John passed away in August of 1960. Following her husband's death, she moved to Bowbells, ND, where she worked at the drug store for a few years. She then moved back to Northgate, where she was the PostMistress for over 14 years. When she retired, the post office closed. She was a former member of United Lutheran Church, Flaxton, Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, and was currently a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Flaxton. She enjoyed doing craftwork, quilting, playing cards, and visiting with her family and friends. Surviving family includes: daughters, Betty (Walter) Bettin, Cunningham, TN, Merlaine (George) Barnett, Monroe, WA, and June Anderson, Ontario, CA; sons, Leon (Florence) Anderson, Plains, MT, and Robert (Velma) Anderson, Wessington Springs, SD; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a few great great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Tafelmeyer, Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada; numerous nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; infant daughter, Myrtle Anderson; daughter, Mary Ann Oliva; son, Wesley Anderson; sister, Minnie Ganskop; and brothers, Henry Tafelmeyer and John Tafelmeyer Jr.. Funeral: Friday, May 4, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's
