Dorothy Anderson • 1917 - 2009 Dorothy Ruth Anderson was born on July 19, 1917, a daughter of Amandus and Minnie (Knudtson-Leslie) Anderson on the family farm near Kenmare, ND. She was raised and educated in Kenmare, graduating from Kenmare High School. Dorothy and her mother Minnie made their home together in Kenmare until Minnie’s death in 1972. Dorothy worked as a clerk at Carlson Drug Store for over 50 years until her retirement. Dorothy lived in Kenmare until 2002, when she moved to West Fargo, ND, where she lived with her brother-in-law and niece Clarence and Kay Erickson. In August of 2009, she entered the Elim Nursing Home in Fargo, where she resided at the time of her death. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Kenmare, where she was active in the women’s ministry and teaching Sunday School. Those who shared in her life: One brother Marvin Anderson, Tacoma, WA; one brother-in-law Clarence Erickson, Fargo, ND; ten nieces and nephews who were a special part of her life. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Clayton Anderson and three sisters Lenore Cripps, Arlene Nelson and Lorraine Erickson.
