Bertha Anderson • 1911- 2006 Bertha was born October 6, 1911 on the family farm near Velva, ND, the daughter of Carl and Johanna Schmidt. She attended country school in that area. She was once married to Alvir W. Anderson. Following their marriage they moved to a farm at Ruso, ND, where she raised her family. Bertha was a life-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kongsberg and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Survivors: Children, Ruth Watson, Billings, MT, Floyd (Mary) Anderson, Ruso, Wallace Anderson, Velva, Warren (Lois) Anderson, Bowman, ND, and Velma Schafman, Gillette, WY; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and a few great great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Rawlins, Marysville, WA and Ella Martinson, Benedict, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Bertha was preceded in death by her daughter, Natalie Anderson, her parents, Carl and Johanna; sisters, Caroline Bluhm, Gertrude Schoenberg, Johanna Schmidt; brothers, Art and Herbert Schmidt. Funeral: Monday, July 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kongsberg, ND. Visitation: Sunday, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva, ND. Burial: St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Kongsberg. Memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley Care Center,
