Donna Mae Amrein 1934 - 2011

Donna Mae Hulberg was born November 30, 1934, a daughter of Clarence and Annie (Widdel) Hulberg, in Minot, ND.  She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1952.

Donna Mae married Raymond W. Amrein February 13, 1955, in Bismarck. They made their home in Seattle, WA, for a short time before returning to Minot. Together they owned and operated Cruiser Cab Company from 1964 until 1975. She then worked various jobs until 1978, when she began her career as a dietician at Trinity Nursing Home. She retired from there in 1996. She later went to work as a cook for Lydia’s Café. Raymond passed away March 10, 2006. Following her husband’s death she retired from Lydia’s.

She was a member of Saron Lutheran Church, South Prairie, ND.

She enjoyed crocheting afghans and blankets, cooking, baking, hosting holiday dinners, visiting, and helping others. She also had a collection of porcelain dolls, bells, and angels.

Her loving family includes:  children, Billy Ray Amrein, Susan Manning, Sally (Jeff) Thoreson, and Sheryl Amrein, all of Minot, Robert Amrein, Burlington, ND, and Sonja Rakness, and her fiancé, Rusty Barrett, Stanley; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Ahmann, Minot, and Betty (Don) Boehm, Watford City, ND; brother, Allen Hulberg, South Prairie, ND; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; great-grandson, Tristen Rakness.

Funeral: Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Saron Lutheran Church, South Prairie, ND.

Interment:
Saron Lutheran Cemetery, South Prairie, ND.

Visitation: 
Wednesday from Noon to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

: are preferred to Trinity Cancer Care in Minot.
