June Mielke 1946 - 2010

June Mielke PhotJune Mielke, 64, Minot, died Monday, December 20, 2010 in a Minot hospital.

June Frances Marie Maier was born on November 4, 1946, a daughter of Victor and Irene (Kuntz) Maier in Bismarck, ND. She was raised and educated in Linton, ND, graduating from Linton High School in 1965. Following her graduation, she attended beauty school in Bismarck. Following her graduation from beauty school, she began working for David Kelstrom at Midwestern Wigs in Jamestown, ND. 

On November 16, 1968, June was united in marriage to Harlan Mielke in Jamestown, ND. They moved to Bismarck, where June worked for the New Image Hair Salon for 12 years. The family moved to Minot, where June worked for Hair It IS and Mr. Gary’s hair salon, until retirement.

June enjoyed reading, crocheting and painting ceramics.

Those who shared in her life: Husband of 42 years, Harlan, Minot; son, Dean (Linda) Mielke, Minot; daughter, Jaymie Mielke, Houston, TX; two grandsons, Allen Mielke and Joseph Mielke; brothers, Roger (Theresa) Maier, Lake Havasu City, AZ, Clifford (Deb) Maier, Missoula, MT, Terry Maier, Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Clark Maier, Bismarck, ND; sister, Vicki (Allen) Keliner, San Diego, CA; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

June was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother, Frances Kuntz.

Visitation:  There will be no reviewal, however, friends may sign a register book on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, from 11 until 1 pm at Bethel Free Church, Minot.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1 pm at Bethel Free Church, Minot.

Burial:  A private family burial will take place at a later time.

Immediately following the memorial service, everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the fellowship hall of the church.

The Mielke family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. May God bless the memory of June.
