Coleman "Coley"
Llewellyn 1920- 2006 Coleman "Coley" Llewellyn was born on July 5, 1920, the son of Asa and Agnes (Johnson) Llewellyn on the family farm South of Berthold, ND. He was reared and educated in the Minot area. On April 28, 1943, Coleman enlisted into the United States Army, at Fort Snelling, MN. He was active in the European-African Middle Eastern Theater. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on March 23, 1946. Coleman received the European-African Theater Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. On March 3, 1945, Coleman was united in marriage to Anne Luckett in Marion, AR. They lived in Tennessee until 1946, when they moved to Minot, ND. On March 1, 1948, he started his career with the City of Minot, working his way up to street foreman before he retired on April 1, 1994. Anne passed away on January 16, 1994. Following her death, Coleman continued to live in Minot. Coley especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding horses in the Badlands of ND. He was active as a team roper and horse shoer. He was a longtime member of the Minot and Mouse River trail riders clubs. Llewellyn, Asa David Llewellyn III, Ava Llewellyn, Isabel Llewellyn. Coleman was preceded in death by, his wife, parents, three brothers, Lloyd, Gordon, and Lynn. Visitation: Friday, July 7, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Funeral Service: Saturday, July 8, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel.
