Ella LaFlame 1928- 2008 Ella H. Webster was born March 4, 1928, the daughter of Leon and Bertha (Hansen) Webster in rural Regan, ND. The family moved to rural Garrison, ND, then rural Roseglen, ND, during the 1930's and early 40's. She attended grade school for seven years at Roseglen and Berthold High School for a half a year. In 1942, she moved to Minot and attended Minot High School for three years. She worked at the Majestic Café, Victory Café Coffee Cup, and Vi's Café through the years until 1956. Ella was married to James R. LaFlame April 26, 1947, in Minot, ND. She worked at the Minot American Legion Club while her husband was in the service. She later attended Minot Business College from 1956 to 57. She then went to work for Midwest Farm Equipment Co. and worked there for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She and her husband lived in Minot all their married years. After retiring in 1987, they spent their summers at their summer home at Lake Metigoshe and their winters in Minot. They had their lake home since 1953. Many happy hours were spent fishing, building the cabin, hunting in the fall of the year and snowmobiling in the winter months. James passed away October 14, 1997. Ella liked to garden, play cards, visiting with people, reading, and helping someone else whenever she could. Ella had a zest for life and living it to the fullest. With her long battle with cancer, she always kept her great attitude. Surviving family includes: sisters, Nell Burtch, Norwich, Dorothy Haines, Minot, Evelyn Ballweber, Sweet Home, OR, Betty O'Brien, Sweet Home, OR, Cleone Okken, Medical Lake, WA, and Marge Sprenger, Ronan, MT; brothers, Tom Webster, Minot, and Cal Webster, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Bertha Webster; husband, James; brothers, Jack, Jerry, Dave, Lyle, and Hans Webster; sisters, Helen Billing and Etta Wahl.
