It is with a lonesome heart that I write today. So many wonderful memories with Herb and Gen, in Makoti, Arizona and Minot. Always the welcoming smiles, loving and accepting hearts and most gracious hospitality! I was blessed to be welcomed into the Markwardt home and family.

Occasionally I go to the Minot Daily web site to see what is going on in ND. I was sorry to read about Herb's passing. My sympathy to the entire family. Herb never failed to tease me about smoking his pipe--back in 1960? He will be missed!
