Louis J. Charlebois, Jr. 1932 - 2010

Louis Charlebois PhotoLouis J. Charlebois, Jr.  77, Minot and Weslaco, Texas, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 in a Weslaco hospital.

He  was born July 14, 1932, to Louis and Julia Charlebois in Minot.  He graduated from St. Leo’s High School in Minot.  Louis served in the Army from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.  He was stationed in Fort Ritchie, MD.  He married Myrtle Bock on June 17, 1953 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Foxholm.

He worked as a salesman for Northland Sporting Goods in Minot for 24 years before becoming self-employed.  He retired in 1995.

Louis enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and relaxing around a campfire.  He loved spending winters in Texas.

He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Minot.

Louis was the last of the Charlebois family who had a blacksmith shop in Minot for more than 100 years.

His wife, Myrtle; sons, Joe (Faye) , of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robert, Minot;  daughters, Mari (Jim) Heckman, Minot and Paula Sinnott, Pinchercreek, Alberta; seven grandchildren, Aaron Schmalz and fiancee, Tori Burum, Michelle Hoff, Matthew Mauldin, Jordan Sinnott, Britta Sinnott, Mykaila Charlebois and Kauner Charlebois.

Louis was preceded in death by: his parents; and two brothers, Anthony and Eloy.

Memorial Service:
Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot

Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Cemtery, Foxholm, ND
